Cliff Head North to Gladstone

From Cliff Head North we followed the Brand Highway to Geraldton then continued north on the North West Coastal Highway.  A brief stop at the Overlander Road House was made even more brief by the 100 million flies that greeted us here.  I did stay long enough to buy this beautiful travel hat, though...

Not too far from the Overlander (about another 55kms) we arrived at our next stop over - Gladstone Camp Ground.  We once again camped on a beautiful beach, and the boys enjoyed a game of soccer.

It was a very moonlit night and Jack was fascinated by our 'moon shadows'.  For the second night we toasted marshmallows by the fire and Bruce & Jarrah provided the back ground guitar music.

We woke up the next morning to a glorious sunrise and as we rode our bikes to the toilet (yes that was kind of cool) we heard the most beautiful bird call - Jack described it as a 'flute'.

  4. Hi nomads, Looks like the trip is going well, all is well with the Johnstons/Warburtons/Nebels. Mel's party was Fabulous and everyone had a great time. Seemed strange having the Crosettas there but everyone got on really well. lots of kisses and hugs all around. Julia Crosetta did a great pc presentation of Mel's life which brought tears to my eyes. (not hard to do!) during the photo's i wondered if Anthony and Donna had any regrets? everyone was moved by it. The Eagles won thier game so the Nebels were happy. Jen and Quit are all moved in and happy except for Harvey who has been HOWLING every day while they are at work.... Some neighbours gave them a visit to tell them as they were blissfully unaware. Kate is still looking for a job and getting despondant. She asked me to go to Paris with her for a week!! That is not going to happen. Did you forget anything? not that it matters when you are 100's of miles from home! Love to you all, keep blogging. xxx Barb xxx
